Turning Pages for a Cause: A Thank You to Lauren at Book Garden popup

15 days, 90 customers and over 260 books later, Lauren from Book Garden Popup has managed to raise and £646 for us at Health Living Platform!

Lauren ran a pop-up bookshop to raise money for us between 20 September to 20 October 2023 Wednesday to Friday, selling picture books, children’s books, classics, books by black authors, non-fiction and even had a regular afterschool group of primary students loved the chapter books.

But this was more than just a book sale. It was a gathering of minds and a coming together of our community. With an enticing £2 offer on all books, Lauren created a space where 90 customers could explore literature while supporting HLP’s mission. Lauren's pop-up coincided with our Food Ambassador Course in the same venue which brought people together, sparking conversations, recommendations, and connections that might not have otherwise happened.

The donation of £646 will go towards more toiletries for our Swim for Soap campaign – raising awareness around hygiene poverty. We have been distributing a small range of toiletries and cleaning products as these items often get forgotten yet are essential in self-care and dignity.
