Reducing food waste event at Lewisham market

As part of food waste awareness week, in conjunction with TRiFOCAL and Lewisham council, food co-ordinators Zoe and Mala ran a series of demonstrations and talks at Lewisham market showing people how to eat sustainably and reduce food waste.  Demonstrations included 'root to stem cooking', where we showed how to use all parts of the vegetable - convincing people to stop chucking out those stalks, leaves and peel.  We gave out samples, including delicious homemade pickles, broccoli stalk pesto and tomato chutney.

Please get in contact if you are interested in us running a similar event for your organisation or community.
